Progressive Care / Cardiovascular Unit (PCU) — Travel RN

Colorado | 13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

This PCU assignment places you in a cardiovascular step-down unit caring for cardiac, respiratory compromise, and post-procedure recovery patients. The unit is supported by nurse aides and telemetry monitor techs, with RNs responsible for verifying rhythm strips.

Shift & Scheduling

• 12-hour days; self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• 6–9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Holiday requirements apply
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Requirements

• Manage titratable drips: cardiac, antihypertensive, metabolic, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia
• Non-invasive respiratory support: BiPAP, heated high-flow oxygen
• Chest tube management
• Telemetry monitoring with RN strip verification
• Respiratory therapy equipment in use on the unit (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow)

Float & Coverage

• First to float as needed; may float to other facilities within the same zone
• Charge RN carries no patient assignment
• Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Navy blue
• BSN not required
• Must be in state for the full week of orientation
• Must reside within 60 miles of the facility; driver's license submission required
• Start date: November 30, 2026
