Shift & Schedule

• 8-hour days, 0630–1500, Monday–Friday
• Evening and weekend call required (30-minute response time)
• Weeknight call: 1500–0700
• Weekend call: 0700–0700
• Saturday/Sunday pairing preferred but not required
• 40 guaranteed hours per week

• 13-week assignment
• Must be available for in-state orientation
• Driver's license required; 60-mile radius

Unit Overview

You'll work in a surgical services department with 4 operating rooms and 1 GI endoscopy room, averaging 10 cases daily. The surgical schedule includes robot-assisted and laparoscopic procedures, hernia repairs, appendectomies, basic orthopedic cases, gynecology, and podiatry.

Role Expectations

• Scrubbing required
• Robot and GI experience preferred
• Charge nurse and house supervisor roles available on-site (you won't be required to fill these)
• Staffing includes at least 1 OR tech and 1 first assistant per case
• No floating outside the OR; internal coverage possible only in extreme circumstances

Requirements

• Current BLS (AHA)
• Valid RN license

What to Expect

• Orientation includes unit-specific checkoff and time with staff until comfortable
• Scrubs provided (ceil blue)
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week contract
