Adult General Medical/Telemetry RN — Travel Contract

Long Beach, CA | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This telemetry unit cares for adult and geriatric patients across a broad range of medical diagnoses, with a focus on cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic management, and complex medical-surgical acuity. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy.

Schedule

• 4x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call obligation
• Self-scheduling

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start: November 30, 2026
• Orientation: 12 hours (includes charting system training, completed during orientation)
• Local candidates (within 50 miles) are accepted at a modified rate

Float Requirement

Candidates must be willing to float to Med/Surg and ED holding based on census.

Required Certifications

• BLS
• EKG Certification (provided by the facility)

Required Skills

• Telemetry monitoring (unit and remote) and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care
• Heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Blood product administration and PCA management
• Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Post cardiac angiogram and post-MI care
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Wound care/wound vac and feeding tube management
• Phlebotomy and port access

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of RN experience required
• California RN license in hand at time of submission
• 1 professional reference within the past 2 years
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
