Oncology RN — Night Shift | Long Beach, CA

This 13-week contract places you on a dedicated oncology unit caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The unit offers robust interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 3×12s, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling
• Float required to Med/Surg, Med/Tele, and ED based on census

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start: December 7, 2026
• CA RN license in hand required at time of submission
• Local candidates (within 50 miles) accepted at a local rate
• 1 reference required within the past 2 years
• Pre-approved time off must be submitted with application

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ONS Chemotherapy Certification (OCN preferred)

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience
• IVIG experience required
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Port access and management
• Central line and PICC line care
• Blood product administration
• Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• High-flow nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• IV insulin and heparin protocols
• Wound care, surgical drains, tracheostomy management
• Pre/post hemodialysis and neurosurgery care

Additional Notes

• Orientation includes non-billable module hours completed on-site
• No prior permanent staff at this facility permitted to apply
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
