Med Surg Tele

LTAC Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Day Shift | Columbia, SC

This 13-week contract places you in a long-term acute care med/surg telemetry unit serving an adult and geriatric patient population. The unit maintains a daily census of approximately 15 patients and benefits from robust interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, phlebotomy, social services, and a unit secretary.

Shift & Scheduling

• Days, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30)
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Weekend coverage is supported by a rotating on-call system shared among 6–8 staff members
• After-hours on-call required daily after 5 PM and on weekends (primary and backup call rotation)

Clinical Scope

Nurses in this role will manage complex, high-acuity patients requiring:

• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Tracheostomy care and management
• Complex wound care
• Neurological assessment and monitoring

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Neuro experience required
• LTAC experience preferred

Additional Requirements

• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Float to other qualified units may be required based on census needs
• Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable)
• Orientation takes place on Mondays
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible at full rate
