Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a 16-week contract on a medical-surgical telemetry unit. You'll work nights (7 PM – 7 AM) providing comprehensive care to adult patients with a variety of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights: 7 PM – 7 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 1 weekend shift per week or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
• Must work at least 1 holiday during the contract
• Block booking may be requested but is not guaranteed
• Flexibility to float to other units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (NY or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years acute hospital experience with at least 1 recent year in med-surg/tele
• Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• 2 years U.S. work history required for international candidates

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; respond to rhythm changes and patient condition deterioration
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
• Manage pre- and post-operative patient care
• Care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team on plan of care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on treatments and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift
• Enforce infection control and fall prevention protocols

• Charge experience requested but not required; training provided if needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Start date: December 1, 2026
