Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Lufkin, TX

13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

This medical/surgical telemetry unit operates under a Virtual Integrated Care (VIC) nursing model, managing patients with diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, ia, and chronic kidney disease. Nurses carry a standard med/surg tele workload and must be comfortable with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients.

Shift & Scheduling

• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• Schedule is manager-assigned; block scheduling is not available
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Float & Coverage

• Floating to all med/surg units is required

Clinical Expectations

• RNs must be able to independently read telemetry strips (monitor techs are present but RNs retain accountability)
• No drip titration required on this unit
• Charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators are available on shift
• Patient care technicians support the unit

Certifications & Licensure

• BLS required
• Texas RN license required (facility willing to wait for licensure)
• BSN not required
