Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a registered nurse for its Labor & Delivery unit. You will deliver coordinated nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery, working within established standards of care and the nursing process. This role includes supervisory responsibilities, directing activities of nursing staff, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams.
Shift & Duration
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 or 48 hours per week (flexible scheduling available)
- 13-week contract
- Start date: November 16, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop individualized care plans based on clinical findings
- Provide direct patient care and supervise nursing staff as assigned
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other disciplines to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Evaluate patient progress and modify interventions as needed
- Participate in discharge planning for continuity of care
- Delegate appropriately and coordinate team responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in California
- Current BLS certification from an approved vendor
- Current ACLS certification
- Minimum two years of recent acute care nursing experience
- L&D or perinatal nursing experience preferred
- BSN preferred
