Labor & Delivery Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Labor & Delivery unit for a 13-week contract. You'll work nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a 36-hour weekly schedule, delivering skilled care to obstetric patients across the childbirth continuum.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and those in the immediate postpartum period
- Assess maternal and fetal status, interpret findings, and communicate with the care team
- Support patients and families through labor, delivery, and early postpartum recovery
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and support staff to ensure safe, family-centered care
- Educate patients and families on labor processes and postpartum care
- Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care
- Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned nursing and support staff
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in California
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Electronic health record experience required
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety certification required
