Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Lufkin, TX

This is a 13-week night shift contract in a busy Emergency Department serving a high-acuity patient population with a strong mix of trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac cases. The ED includes a fast track area and a designated zone where travelers may occasionally assist with . ER holds are intermixed within the department and managed by ED RNs. In-house security is on site.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Self-scheduling options available across multiple shift start times
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Details

• High-volume environment seeing 80–90 patients per day
• Patient population includes trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac presentations
• RNs are responsible for ECG rhythm interpretation (no monitor technicians)
• Respiratory therapy manages ventilator support and breathing treatments
• CT and X-ray located adjacent to the ED
• Blood draws performed by tech or RN

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
• Active RN license eligible for Texas
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and PALS or ENPC
• BSN not required

• Scrubs: Navy
• Float: To units based on qualifications
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Candidates must not have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity Health) within the past year
