Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Inpatient Unit

Location: Vallejo, CA

Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (5 × 8-hour shifts; rotating weekends)

Contract Duration: 9 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

The Role

You'll deliver coordinated nursing care to patients in an inpatient psychiatric unit serving children, adolescents, and adults. You'll assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, supervise assigned nursing staff, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to support recovery and wellness.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting patient assessments and analyzing health data
• Planning and implementing evidence-based interventions
• Supervising and delegating to various levels of nursing staff
• Educating patients and families
• Participating in discharge planning and continuity of care
• Maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment

Requirements

• Current RN license (state of California)
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 1 year recent psychiatric nursing experience
• Experience with inpatient behavioral health charting systems
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or TEAM/TEAM-A certification preferred (available on-site)
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work rotating weekends and handle dynamic patient populations
