Emergency Department RN | Day Shift | Apple Valley, CA

This 13-week contract places you in a fast-paced Emergency Department serving a broad patient population — from neonates to geriatrics — in a community hospital setting. The unit manages a high daily patient volume and receives both STEMI and stroke patients, requiring sharp clinical instincts and efficient skills.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 3×12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30)
• Weekend coverage every other weekend; may increase based on unit need
• Must commit to 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• Block scheduling considered at manager's discretion
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application

Clinical Scope

• Combined adult and pediatric emergency care
• , blood product administration, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation
• Central line care, arterial line management, ventilator management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, CVA and traumatic brain injury care
• Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ED experience
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Electronic health record proficiency required
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Pending licenses not accepted

• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Orientation: 36 hours
• No on-call required; no mandatory float within this unit
• Travelers may be asked to float to nearby sister facilities
