Travel RN – Labor & Delivery | Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract
This 13-week travel opportunity places an experienced Labor & Delivery RN in a busy OB unit in Rochester, NY, caring for pregnant patients at any gestational age as well as postpartum patients within six weeks of delivery. Both OB physician and midwifery care are supported on the unit.
Shift & Schedule
- 3 x 12-hour rotating shifts (days 7:00 AM–7:00 PM / nights 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday, as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Estimated start: November 2026
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Active New York single-state RN license required prior to submission (NY is not a compact state)
- OB-ACLS or ACLS, BLS, NRP, and EFM certification required
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
Clinical Skills & Scope
- Assist with vaginal deliveries; circulate and recover for cesarean sections
- External and internal fetal monitoring (EFM, IUPC placement and calibration)
- Magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, Terbutaline administration
- Management of preeclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, and high-risk OB conditions
- Newborn assessment, APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation support, thermoregulation
- Non-stress testing, Foley catheter management, fundus/lochia/perineum care
- ID/security banding and baby-catcher responsibilities
Additional Details
- Floating within skillset required
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required
- Electronic health record proficiency is a hard requirement
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- First-time travelers accepted
