Pediatric RN — Med/Surg Unit | Lubbock, TX

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is on a pediatric med/surg unit caring for infants, children, and adolescents across a broad range of medical and surgical conditions. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, rapid response, and phlebotomy.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3×12-hour shifts
• 16-week contract
• Start date: November 30, 2026
• Weekends required: 5 shifts per 6-week period
• On-call required based on unit census
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Float & Flexibility

• Float between units within scope is required; refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours

Clinical Scope

• Age-appropriate assessments for infants, pediatric, and adolescent patients
• BiPAP/CPAP management, central line/implanted line care, oxygen delivery systems
• Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), breastfeeding support, hyperbilirubinemia management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Isolation precautions and pediatric emergency response

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact license must be in hand at submission)
• BLS and PALS required
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience
• First-time travelers welcome
