Shift: Day, 3×12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

Schedule: Every other weekend; 4-patient ratio

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: December 1, 2026

Location: Apple Valley, CA

About the Role

The facility is seeking an RN to join its busy ED holding and cardiac telemetry unit. You'll provide continuous monitoring and nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions, acute illnesses, and post-procedural needs. This is a high-volume environment where you'll manage a typical patient load while collaborating with physicians, cardiologists, and the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret EKGs/arrhythmias
• Administer cardiac medications and manage drips (non-titrating)
• Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage central lines, PICCs, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and surgical drains
• Provide wound care, manage feeding tubes, and administer blood products
• Respond to rapid response and code team activations
• Document assessments and interventions in the electronic health record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (compact license acceptable)
• Minimum 1–2 years telemetry/cardiac experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Additional Information

• Float requirements: You may be asked to float to nearby sister facilities to meet unit needs
• Weekend coverage: Every other shift required
• One week pre-approved time off; all requests must be submitted upfront
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers welcome with 3+ years experience
