Emergency Department – Holding RN | Apple Valley, CA

Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This position is specifically designated for ED Holding within a high-volume emergency department. Nurses in this role manage adult and geriatric patients awaiting inpatient admission, with a clinical scope that spans cardiac telemetry monitoring, stroke care, and a broad range of acute and complex diagnoses.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Must commit to 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• Self-scheduling; float to sister facilities may be required

Clinical Skills Required

• Cardiac telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Stroke/CVA care, vasoactive and cardiac drip management (non-titrating)
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care
• Central line, PICC, and port management
• Heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, chest tube management
• Pre/post cardiac cath, angiogram, and hemodialysis management

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience (strong candidates with 3+ years considered for first-time travelers)
• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• 2 professional references covering the past 3 years required
• 12-hour orientation

Charge experience is preferred. Prior experience in community hospital or LTAC settings is a plus. All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at the time of submittal.
