CVICU / Neuro-ICU Travel RN — Napa, CA | 13-Week Contract

This role is based in a neuroscience and cardiovascular intensive care unit managing complex, high-acuity adult patients across a broad range of critical diagnoses and specialized procedures.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights); primarily nights with occasional days to meet unit needs
• No rotation within the same week
• Weekend coverage required
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• Self-scheduling unit

Clinical Scope

The unit cares for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, trauma, subdural hematoma, and renal failure. Key skills and procedures include:

• CVA / acute stroke management
• ICP monitoring and EVD management
• Post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care
• Spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury management
• Hypothermia protocol management
• Care of ventilated patients
• CRRT management
• IABP and Impella support
• CABG post-operative care
• Chest tube insertion/removal assistance

Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Valid compact RN license required at time of submission
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be considered as local
• Float to nearby sister facilities may be required

Additional Details

• 12-hour orientation
• 2 professional references required (covering 1 year within the last 3 years)
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application
