Registered Nurse – Family Birthing Center

Location: Salida, CO

Shift: Nights (1800–0600), 24 hours per week | Weekends and holidays required | 13-week contract

Requirements:

• Current, active RN license in Colorado
• BLS & NRP certification required; PALS preferred
• Minimum Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum two years nursing experience

About the Role:

You'll provide direct care to laboring, delivery, and postpartum patients, as well as neonates. You'll assess and evaluate patient health status, collaborate with physicians, families, and the healthcare team to plan and deliver safe, effective care. Your responsibilities include monitoring labor progression, supporting breastfeeding education, teaching infant care, and documenting all interventions and patient responses.

You'll also float to telemetry and the emergency department as needed for sitter duties, and provide support to medical-surgical staff during shifts.

Key Duties:

• Assess and monitor patients through labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
• Provide maternal and infant education
• Document care in the patient medical record
• Communicate patient status to physicians and supervisors
• Collaborate with nursery staff on mother-baby couplet care
• Assist with emergency response across units when needed
• Maintain a clean, safe environment

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds; frequent standing and walking; close visual acuity for reading monitors and records; ability to adjust focus and observe patient changes.
