CVICU Travel Nurse | Nashville, TN | 13-Week Contract

This cardiovascular ICU assignment places you at the center of a high-volume, advanced cardiac surgery program, caring for some of the most complex post-operative patients in the field. The unit operates with an intensivist on-site 24/7 and a free-floating charge nurse available to support staff throughout each shift.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour days)
• 36 guaranteed hours/week
• 2 weekends/month
• Holiday rotation: 1 summer holiday, 2 winter holidays

Clinical Scope

• Immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those on ECMO, ventricular assist devices (including LVADs), and other mechanical support
• Unit-performed procedures: central line insertion, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, and intubation

Required Skills & Certifications

• Strong CVICU background is essential
• Proficiency in PA catheter management and hemodynamic monitoring required
• Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT highly preferred
• Active ACLS and BLS required

Unit Support

• Unit secretaries and administrative care techs available Monday–Friday
• Student nurse externs assist with tech duties on variable shifts

Float Policy

• May float to other ICUs or floors as needed

Dress Code

• Black, red, or galaxy blue scrubs; scrub jackets or vests only
