Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Maryville, TN | 13-Week Contract

This inpatient unit specializes in neurological and higher-acuity medical-surgical patients, with a strong focus on stroke and TIA care alongside a broad range of complex diagnoses including seizure, syncope, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, sepsis, acute kidney failure, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery. The unit also performs peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 3x12 or 4x12
• Every-other-weekend coverage required
• Float to other qualified units based on census needs

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active Tennessee RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS — all required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; no first-time travelers
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Electronic health record proficiency (minimum 1 year) required
• Travel nursing experience required

Key Clinical Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Blood product administration, heparin, insulin, and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Central line blood draws, PICC line management, port access
• Continuous bladder irrigation, peritoneal dialysis
• Wound care/wound vac, chest tube management
• PCA management, feeding tube care

Orientation

• 24-hour on-site orientation (Mondays)
• Pre-assignment testing and online modules required within 48 hours of system access; up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable
