Med Surg Tele

Med Surg/Tele RN — Travel Contract | Jackson, TN

This fast-paced Med Surg/Telemetry unit cares for adult and geriatric patients across a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses. Nurses on this unit manage complex, high-acuity cases and provide comprehensive bedside care supported by a strong interdisciplinary team.

Clinical Scope

• Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Post-MI and pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Central line, PICC line, and port access/management
• Blood product administration, heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Non-invasive airway management, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, wound care/wound vac
• CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal
• Pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, surgical drain care

Schedule & Float

• 3x12-hour day shifts; no on-call required
• Float to other Med Surg/Tele units or low-acuity ICU may be required
• Approximately 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Requirements

• Active Tennessee or multi-state compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; travel experience preferred
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all must be current at submission)
• Charting system experience required; must be documented on profile
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions
