Telemetry / PCU Travel Nurse — San Jose, CA
13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
This combined Telemetry/PCU unit cares for a diverse cardiac and post-surgical patient population in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Patients include stroke, post-angiogram, post-PCI, and post-operative cardiac surgery cases, along with a range of general post-surgical admissions.
Clinical Scope
- Procedures: rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, wound vac care, TR band maintenance, swallow/dysphagia assessments, angiogram and PCI post-care
- Patient population: telemetry, PCU-level acuity, stroke, and post-op day 3 open-heart patients
Shift Details
- Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Rotating weekends; no on-call requirement
- No guaranteed set schedule
- Guaranteed hours: 36/week
Requirements
- Minimum 1.5–2 years of telemetry experience
- Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- PCU, stroke, or telemetry background preferred
- Scrub color: any
Float Expectations
Candidates may float between CV East, CV West, and med-surgical units as needed.
