Labor & Delivery Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Labor & Delivery nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Asheville, NC. This is a full-time position with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)
- 13-week contract
What You'll Do
You'll provide direct patient care in a busy L&D unit, supporting laboring patients through delivery and immediate postpartum care. Responsibilities include:
- Fetal monitoring and labor progression assessment
- Patient education and labor support
- Collaboration with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members
- Postpartum assessment and newborn care
- Documentation and charting
Requirements
- Current RN license (active in North Carolina)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NRP preferred
- Experience in labor & delivery nursing
- Ability to work nights and be flexible with clinical demands
