Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Duration: 13 weeks

Location: Corbin, KY

About the Role

The facility is seeking an RN to join its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, where you'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple patients while maintaining clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, identifying risks and prioritizing care needs across a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
