Registered Nurse – Med-Surg/Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced RN to join its med-surg/telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment centered on patient-centered healing and evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and provide direct care to patients with diverse medical, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education on conditions, medications, and treatment plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Uphold infection control and fall prevention standards; participate in unit quality improvement initiatives
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of med-surg/telemetry experience
• Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• ADN/ASN required; BSN preferred

Schedule & Contract

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Includes weekends
• 13-week contract
• Start date: November 30, 2026
