Registered Nurse – Critical Care Unit

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Critical Care Unit. In this role, you will provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced life support. This is a full-time position working 12-hour overnight shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), with weekend and holiday requirements. On-call shifts may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to high-acuity, critically ill patients with close monitoring and rapid response capabilities
• Perform comprehensive assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage advanced life support equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitors
• Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips, per physician orders
• Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams on individualized care plans
• Provide patient and family education regarding condition, treatment, and care needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Ensure infection control and safety protocols are consistently followed
• Participate in rapid response and code interventions as needed

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
• 1+ years of ICU or critical care experience
• Proficiency with critical care equipment and hemodynamic monitoring
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients
• CCRN certification preferred

Contract Details

• 13-week contract
• Start date: November 30, 2026
• Overnight shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 12-hour shifts
• Full-time with weekend and holiday coverage required
