Medical-Surgical Float Pool RN — Night Shift | Boston, MA

13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

This float pool position supports a broad range of medical-surgical units, covering specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics (hips and joints), oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular. Travel RNs are typically assigned to a single unit for 2–3 week rotations, though same-day assignments (as little as 2 hours before shift) are possible.

Schedule & Commitment

• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly (on-call hours not included)
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• No on-call required
• Set schedules cannot be guaranteed; approved time-off requests will be honored
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of application

Clinical Scope

• 12-lead EKGs, telemetry monitoring, blood transfusions, Lasix drips, nebulizer administration
• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators; RNs administer nebulizers

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and specialty area experience preferred
• Level I trauma experience required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Basic computer proficiency; web-based application navigation required
• Familiarity with a major electronic health record system required
