Medical Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Maryville, TN

13-Week Travel Contract | 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

This progressive care/step-down unit manages adult patients transitioning from the ICU. No ventilators or vasopressor support. The unit focuses on telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis needs, AFib, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery.

Clinical Scope

• Cardiac drip management: heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, sotalol initiation
• Telemetry: unit-based and remote monitoring
• Pre/post cardiac cath and hemodialysis care
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care
• Central line, chest tube, and wound/wound vac management
• Blood product administration, PCA, and ABG interpretation
• Peritoneal dialysis support

Scheduling

• 4x12 night shifts (3x12 also possible)
• Every other weekend; subject to change based on unit need
• Floating to comparable med-surg units may be required

Requirements

• Active Tennessee RN license
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg Telemetry or Progressive Care experience
• Electronic medical record experience required (minimum 1 year)
• First-time travelers considered based on clinical experience

Onboarding

• 24-hour orientation (Mondays)
• Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules required within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Module completion (up to 16 hours) is reimbursable

Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted. COVID-19 vaccine not required.
