Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Maryville, TN

13-Week Contract | 4x12 Nights (18:45–07:15)

This adult medical-surgical telemetry unit manages a diverse patient population of adults and geriatrics with a daily census of 15–20 patients. The care team is supported by IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response, radiology, phlebotomy, social services, and unit secretaries.

Shift & Scheduling

• 4x12 nights, 18:45–07:15
• Every other weekend coverage (subject to change based on unit need)
• Floating to like units may be required based on skill set and census

Required Qualifications

• Active Tennessee RN license or compact/multistate license
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg Telemetry
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of electronic health records experience required

Preferred Experience

• Teaching and community hospital backgrounds
• Previous charge nurse experience

Clinical Skills

• Telemetry monitoring, IV insertion and maintenance, blood product administration
• PICC line, central line, and peripheral port management
• Peripheral nerve block catheter care, feeding tube management
• Colostomy/ileostomy care, bariatric surgery patients, ortho trauma, total joint replacement
• Short-stay/23-hour observation, bowel obstruction management

Additional Notes

• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
• Orientation occurs on Mondays; pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 hours reimbursable)
