Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Travel Contract

Maryville, TN | Nights | 13 Weeks

This night-shift travel RN position is on an adult Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit caring for a general medical, pre-operative, and post-operative patient population, including adults and geriatrics. The unit manages post-heart catheterization patients and supports a range of bedside procedures including dialysis catheter placement, thoracentesis, and incision and drainage.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12 or 4x12 nights, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required (subject to change based on unit need)
• Float to similar units may be required based on census

Clinical Skills Required

• Central line and PICC line management
• Blood product administration
• Cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Pre/post hemodialysis management
• Continuous bladder irrigation
• Accessing/managing ports
• Wound care and wound vac
• Heparin protocols, PCA, TR Band
• Dysrhythmia interpretation

Requirements

• Active RN Tennessee license
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Minimum 1 year electronic health record experience with a major clinical EMR
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

Additional Details

• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; up to 16 hours are reimbursable
• Orientation held on Mondays
• First-time travelers considered based on experience

Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response, pharmacy, physical therapy, social services, and phlebotomy.
