Med Surg Tele

Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Maryville, TN

This 13-week contract places you on an adult Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for general medical, pre-operative, and post-operative patients, including adults and geriatrics. The unit manages a census of approximately 30 patients and is supported by a full interdisciplinary team including IV therapy, respiratory services, rapid response, pharmacy, and social services.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12 or 4x12)
• Every other weekend required; schedule subject to change based on unit need
• Float to similar units required as needed

Clinical Scope

• Post-cardiac catheterization care
• Bedside procedures: dialysis catheter management, thoracentesis, incision & drainage (I&D)
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Central line, PICC line, and port access/management
• Blood product administration, heparin protocols, PCA management
• Wound care/wound vac, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube management
• Pre/post hemodialysis management

Requirements

• Active RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 1 year of electronic health record experience required
• First-time travelers considered based on experience

Additional Notes

• Pre-assignment testing and onboarding modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials; up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable
• Orientation begins on Mondays
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Contract extension policy applies after three consecutive 13-week contracts
