Med Surg Tele

Travel RN – Medical/Surgical Telemetry | Night Shift | Maryville, TN

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 19:00–07:30 (3x12 or 4x12 schedule)

This Med/Surg Telemetry unit cares for an adult and geriatric population with a focus on general medical, pre- and post-operative, and post-cardiac catheterization patients. The unit supports a range of bedside procedures including dialysis catheter placement, thoracentesis, and incision and drainage.

Shift & Scheduling

• Night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (frequency may adjust based on unit need)
• Float to similar units may be required based on census

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience with an electronic health record system
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• First-time travelers considered based on experience

Clinical Skills

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Blood product administration
• Central line and PICC line care
• Pre/post hemodialysis management
• Continuous bladder irrigation, wound care/wound vac
• PCA, heparin protocols, feeding tube management
• TR Band experience

Compliance Notes

• Pre-assignment testing and onboarding modules required within 48 hours of receiving system access; up to 16 module hours are reimbursable
• Orientation is held on Mondays
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
