Mother/Baby RN – Day Shift
The Opportunity
The facility is seeking an experienced Mother/Baby RN for a 13-week contract. You'll work three 12-hour day shifts per week (07:00–19:00), every other weekend included. This is a 21-room private-bed unit caring for postpartum mothers, stable antepartum patients, and well or slightly ill newborns.
Your Clinical Scope
You'll manage a diverse patient population including:
- Postpartum and antepartum care
- Mild respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, cardiac monitoring, and phototherapy
- IV antibiotics and neonatal abstinence syndrome management
- Breastfeeding support and discharge education
The unit serves approximately 2,800 patients annually and employs two certified lactation specialists to support families.
Staffing & Ratios
- You may float within scope to meet facility needs
- No call requirement
Requirements
- 2+ years RN experience; minimum 1 year in Mother/Baby specialty
- WV or Compact RN License (pending licenses accepted for submission; must be active at start)
- BLS, NRP, and CLC (preferred)
- Travel experience required
Schedule & Logistics
- Orientation: Every other Thursday
- Guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week (discuss with manager)
- Royal Blue or White scrubs
- Free parking
- Must reside within 100 miles of the facility (75–99 miles considered case-by-case)
