ICU RN – PCU Unit | Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced ICU RN for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a night shift role working 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00) with ASAP availability.
Key Details
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Schedule: Night 3x12-hour (19:00–07:00)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Float Requirements: Yes, within skillset
- On-Call: No
- Orientation: 12 hours
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year ICU nursing experience
- Current RN license (compact license acceptable; pending licenses not accepted)
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA Fire Card
Clinical Scope
You'll provide acute care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including sepsis, MI, stroke, COVID, CHF, open heart surgery, and trauma. Responsibilities include:
- Management of ventilated patients, intubation/extubation
- BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Hemodynamic monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Chest tube and tracheostomy care
- PICC and peripheral line management
- Vasoactive and cardiac drip administration (non-titration)
- Telemetry monitoring (bedside and remote)
The unit has strong interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services.
