Night Shift Med/Surg Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

Join a variable med/surg unit with a strong focus on cardiac and neurology services. You'll care for diverse patient populations including stroke, hip and knee post-op, colorectal cancer, general surgical, occasional gynecologic, hospice, cardiac services, pre- and post-catheterization, teleneuro, and oncology patients.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:45 – 07:15, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Orientation: Two 12-hour shifts plus hospital orientation classes (week one; daily attendance required)

Clinical Scope & Responsibilities

• IV starts and peripheral line care
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• Cardiac drip management (non-titration)
• Rapid response and code team participation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Licenses & Certifications: BCLS, NIHSS; ACLS preferred
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start
• Scrubs: Any combination of navy and white
• Floating: Required to other med/surg units as needed
• COVID care: Willing to care for COVID patients if needed (pregnancy exemptions available)

Time Off

• Up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (no first-week RTO; all requests pre-approved)
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
