Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract

This night-shift opportunity places you on an adult and geriatric Med/Surg Telemetry unit managing patients with cardiac, pulmonary, GI, pain, infectious, and uncontrolled diabetic diagnoses. PCTs support the team with vital signs, blood glucose checks, and EKGs, allowing RNs to focus on clinical care.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
• Every-other-weekend requirement
• Block scheduling attempted but not guaranteed
• Maximum 1 week of RTO per contract

Patient Ratios

Required Skills & Competencies

• Phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement (mandatory competency)
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Oxygen administration: nasal cannula, face mask, portable tank
• Non-invasive airway management
• Peripheral line care and management
• Rapid Response Team activation
• Isolation precautions/PPE

Certifications

• BLS (required)
• NIHSS (preferred)

Float Requirements

• Travelers are required to float within scope: ED boarders, stable ICU patients, med/surg, and stable acute brain injury patients

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience
• Active New York RN license required at time of submission (no pending licenses)
• Charting experience required
• No candidates within 75 miles of the facility accepted
• First-time travelers welcome
