Pediatric Cardiac ICU – Travel Nurse

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced pediatric cardiac intensive care nurse for a 13-week assignment in the CVPICU. This high-acuity unit specializes in post-operative cardiac surgical care, cardiology, congenital heart disease, and heart transplant patients. You'll care for a diverse patient population—approximately 60% infants and 40% toddlers through young adults—managing complex cardiac conditions and supporting patients through their transition from intensive to intermediate care within the unit.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour rotating shifts: Day (07:00–19:00) or Night (19:00–07:00)
• 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Must work 2 of 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
• Maximum 6 days RTO
• No Christmas Day/Eve RTO available

Requirements

• Current California RN license
• 2+ years of recent pediatric cardiac ICU experience (formal training/full orientation as core or staff nurse required)
• Cardiac training mandatory
• Heart transplant experience preferred
• BLS and PALS certifications
• Strong proficiency with ventilators, multi-parameter monitoring, EKG interpretation, and hemodynamic management
• Willing to float within scope of practice as unit needs dictate
