Emergency Department RN — Night Shift

Waco, TX | 13-Week Contract

This night-shift ED nursing role is a great fit for experienced emergency nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The position covers a 7:00 PM–7:15 AM shift with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

About the Role

You'll provide direct nursing care to emergency department patients across the full spectrum of acuity — from urgent to critical presentations. Core responsibilities include:

• Implementing and monitoring individualized patient care plans
• Continuously assessing and communicating patient status to the care team
• Serving as the primary coordinator across disciplines for seamless, well-rounded care
• Carrying out physician and nursing orders accurately and efficiently
• Coordinating discharge planning needs in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:15 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Anticipated start: November 29, 2026

Requirements

• Active RN license (verification required)
• Emergency nursing experience required
• EKG competency (exam required)
• Must pass specialty exam and core competency assessment upon onboarding
• Color vision screening required
• Standard immunization and health history documentation (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Influenza, TB screening)
• Background check and drug screen required
