Orthopedic/Med-Surg RN — Travel Contract | Santa Rosa, CA

13-Week Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (07:00–19:30)

This acute care orthopedic unit primarily serves adult patients recovering from orthopedic and spine surgeries, including total joint replacements and arthroplasty procedures. The unit also manages multi-trauma patients and med-surg overflow, supported by a full interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response.

Schedule & Structure

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every-other-weekend commitment
• No on-call required
• Float between like units required; may include nearby sister facilities
• 40-hour orientation
• Must commit to 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, New Year's Day)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Port access/management, PICC line management, central line care
• Blood product administration, PCA management
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Total joint replacement and orthopedic trauma care
• Wound care/wound vac, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Isolation precautions/PPE, rapid response/code team participation

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Active BLS certification
• Valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission
• First-time travelers considered
• Local candidates accepted

• Scrub color: Royal Blue or Navy Blue
• Free on-site parking
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Guaranteed hours subject to one call-off per two-week pay period
