Hospice Nurse – Home Care
Position Overview
Join a compassionate hospice team providing end-of-life care to patients across Buncombe County. This home-based hospice role focuses on patient comfort, dignity, and family support during a meaningful time.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- On-Call: Minimal backup call potential
- Weekends: Expected
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Manage pain and symptom control with evidence-based protocols
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
- Complete all documentation required for hospice certification and compliance
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated, compassionate care
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- Active CPR certification
- Hospice nursing experience
- Valid driver's license (required for home visits)
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Strong understanding of hospice documentation and certification requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Home health care experience
- Self-directed, organized case management style
Work Environment
- Mobile/in-home visits throughout the county
- Professional scrubs required
