RN Float Pool – 12-Hour Day Shifts
Position Overview
Join a float pool supporting acute inpatient units including ICU, step-down, and medical/surgical floors. You'll rotate across units based on your competency and the facility's daily needs, gaining exposure to diverse patient populations and clinical scenarios.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Call-in for daily unit assignment
- No on-call requirement
Clinical Scope
Float assignments cover:
Drip titration required in step-down only (heparin, cardizem, nitro, insulin, dobutamine, dopamine, esmolol, and others as ordered).
Support & Logistics
- Monitor technicians on staff; CVU nurses read own cardiac strips
- CPAP/BiPAP available across units; mechanical ventilation in ICU
- Nurse aids present on units
- House supervisor available 24/7
- Free charge positions available day shift, Monday–Friday
Requirements
- Current RN license (state)
- BLS (AHA) & ACLS (AHA) certifications required
- Medical/surgical experience required; step-down experience preferred
- Valid driver's license with current permanent address
