Registered Nurse – ICU

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 11 PM – 7 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 19, 2026

About the Role

The facility's ICU is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct, comprehensive care to critically ill patients. You'll manage high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring, advanced life support equipment, and frequent interventions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitoring systems
• Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips
• Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams on individualized care plans
• Perform code and rapid response interventions as needed
• Educate patients and families on treatment and care needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure infection control and safety protocols
• Work autonomously within nursing scope of practice while supporting team-based care

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 1+ year of ICU or critical care experience
• Experience with critical care equipment, ventilators, and hemodynamic monitoring
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of nursing experience before travel
• Recent neuro ICU experience
• Travel experience
• CCRN certification
• Extended contract history demonstrating stability
