Registered Nurse – Float Pool

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Shift: 11 p.m.–7 a.m., 3x12 schedule (weekend and holiday rotation)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a flexible Registered Nurse to join a Float Pool serving multiple units including ICU, Telemetry, Medical/Surgical, and Progressive Care. You will deliver compassionate, evidence-based care across varying patient acuities and clinical environments, adapting quickly to each unit's demands while maintaining clinical excellence.

Requirements

• License & Certifications: Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky; BLS (AHA) required; ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required within 6 months of hire (strongly preferred if already held)
• Education: ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Experience: Minimum 1 year as an RN with telemetry experience required; recent specialty experience and ICU/critical care background preferred
• Additional: Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Training before end of orientation; annual influenza vaccination

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care as patient needs change
• Administer medications and manage advanced life support equipment
• Conduct hourly patient rounding and bedside shift reports
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care coordination
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge needs
• Maintain infection control protocols and patient confidentiality

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling over 35 lbs; regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne infectious diseases; color discrimination for clinical assessment.
