Laboratory Technician – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the laboratory team on a night shift rotation. This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, regulated clinical environment performing a wide range of laboratory testing.

Shift & Schedule

• Monday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:30 AM
• 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests accurately and promptly following established protocols and physician orders
• Record, analyze, and maintain quality control (QC) data to ensure test accuracy and precision
• Operate laboratory instruments using established protocols; perform preventive and corrective maintenance
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and initiate corrective action
• Maintain a safe, efficient working environment through equipment checks, temperature monitoring, and area cleaning
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from acceptable guidelines
• Identify and resolve problems affecting test analyses; escalate to supervisors as needed
• Assist with departmental inventory and supply management
• Evaluate new testing methodologies and contribute to procedure development
• Stay current with clinical competency through continuing education and professional development

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related science field, or equivalent experience
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory testing areas
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Familiarity with computerized laboratory systems preferred
