Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Location: Elizabethtown, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (weekend and holiday rotation)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 30, 2026

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a fast-paced, high-acuity team. You'll provide rapid assessment and comprehensive care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions, from routine complaints to trauma activations and codes.

Key Responsibilities

• and assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
• Provide direct nursing interventions, administer medications and treatments per protocols, and respond to rapid deterioration
• Manage patients across the continuum—admission, treatment, transfer, and discharge
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Support patient flow in a high-volume environment while upholding infection control and safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
• BLS certification
• 1+ years of ER experience
• ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Proficiency with protocols and high-acuity, fast-paced settings

Preferred Certifications

• CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Strong communication, clinical judgment, and the ability to remain composed under pressure are essential.
