Orthopedic/Surgical Nurse – Night Shift | Santa Rosa, CA | 13-Week Contract

This acute care facility is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift position on an orthopedic and surgical unit managing adult patients across a diverse spectrum of post-operative and trauma diagnoses.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Must commit to 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application

Unit & Patient Population

• Orthopedic surgical patients: total joint replacements, arthroplasty, spine surgery
• Multi-trauma patients and med/surg overflow
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, radiology, and rapid response teams

Required Skills

• Port access and management, central line care, PICC line management
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, blood product administration
• Wound care/wound vac, PCA management, chest tube care
• Peripheral nerve block catheters, continuous bladder irrigation
• Traction, ortho trauma, substance withdrawal management

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Active BLS certification
• Valid compact license required at time of submission
• First-time travelers welcome

• Contract duration: 13 weeks | Start date: November 30, 2026
• Float between like units may be required
