Orthopedic / Med-Surg RN — Night Shift | Santa Rosa, CA

Contract: 26 Weeks | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-Hour Shifts

This acute care unit focuses on orthopedic surgical patients, spine surgery cases, multi-trauma patients, and med/surg overflow. You'll care for adults undergoing total joint replacements, arthroplasty, and spine procedures, with remote telemetry monitoring as part of your scope.

Shift & Scheduling

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12s
• Every-other-weekend requirement
• No on-call required
• Float between like units may be required; refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours
• Block scheduling considered at manager's discretion
• Guaranteed hours: facility may call off once per two-week pay period

Clinical Skills Required

• Port access/management, central line and PICC line care
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Blood product administration, PCA management
• Chest tube and wound vac care
• Orthopedic trauma, total joint/spine post-op care, traction
• Rapid Response/Code team utilization
• Isolation precautions/PPE

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Active compact license required at time of submission (pending not accepted)
• BLS required
• Trauma experience preferred
• First-time travelers welcome
• Scrub color: Royal Blue or Navy Blue
• Free parking on-site

Holiday & Time Off

• Commitment to work 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) required
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
