Interventional Radiology Technologist
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week contract in Akron, OH. You'll work day shifts (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) in a busy IR suite performing diagnostic and interventional procedures under physician direction.
What You'll Do
Support a range of interventional radiology cases including vascular access, embolizations, drain placements, and image-guided biopsies. You'll operate imaging equipment, manage patient positioning and safety, assist with sterile technique, monitor vital signs, and maintain detailed procedural records. Strong technical skills, patient care experience, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of permanent, full-time IR technologist experience
- Active Ohio state license (Compact licenses accepted for starts on or after 1/1/23)
- Current BLS certification
- One professional reference from a manager, supervisor, or director in IR required at submission
- Able to pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation (2 attempts maximum)
- Negative background check with no open cases; no license hits
- Nicotine-free status with negative 10-panel drug screen (including cotinine) within 12 months of start
- COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions available)
Onboarding & Expectations
You'll complete required orientation modules pre-start. Badging and onsite fingerprinting must be completed before your first day. The facility has a strict no-call policy.
Contract Terms
13 weeks. Extensions available up to 18 months; a 6-month break follows before return eligibility.
