Registered Nurse – Float Pool

Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in a float pool role. You will rotate across multiple units—ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and PCU—providing direct patient care to populations of varying acuity levels. This position requires clinical flexibility, strong assessment skills, and the ability to prioritize care as patient needs change across different settings.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12 schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Hourly patient rounding and bedside shift report expected

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 3+ years of RN experience
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Recent specialty experience and ICU/critical care experience a plus
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care across multiple units to patients with varying acuity
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition; communicate with physicians and departments
• Administer medications and manage advanced equipment (ventilators, hemodynamic monitors, central/arterial lines)
• Manage critical care interventions, including rapid response and code support
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice
• Prioritize and organize workload effectively across multiple patients and units
• Maintain infection control and patient privacy protocols
• Educate patients and families regarding care and treatment plans

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling (35+ lbs); walking; repetitive motion; bending. Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne infectious diseases.
