Float Pool RN – ICU/Telemetry/Med-Surg/PCU

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in a Float Pool role. You'll provide direct nursing care across multiple units—ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and PCU—caring for patients of varying acuity levels. This role demands clinical flexibility, strong prioritization skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Schedule & Location

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Location: Elizabethtown, KY
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 30, 2026

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 3+ years of RN experience with Telemetry experience required
• Recent specialty experience preferred; ICU or critical care experience is a plus
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• CCRN certification preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessments and direct care to patients across multiple units
• Manage advanced life support equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, hemodynamic monitors)
• Administer medications, including titratable drips, per physician orders
• Perform hourly patient rounding and bedside shift reports
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and infection-control protocols

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (35+ lbs), walking, bending, and color discrimination. Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne pathogens.
